Supervisor Michelle Steel, Second District, has been chosen unanimously by her colleagues to serve as Chairwoman of the Orange County Board of Supervisors for 2020. Supervisor Andrew Do, First District, will serve as the Board's Vice Chairman.
The Board of Supervisors appointed Julie Quillman as the new County Librarian, effective immediately, following a year-long recruitment to fill the high-level position. The position became vacant after the retirement of former County Librarian, Helen Fried, in August 2018.

This upcoming Valentine's Day, Orange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen will be offering extended hours at his offices in Anaheim, Laguna Hills and at the Old County Courthouse in Santa Ana. Instead of its normal closing hours, the department will close at 5:30 pm to issue marriage licenses and perform marriage ceremonies.
