OC Parks - Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve
 Location: Upper Newport Bay Nature Preserve

Bring your little wild one to learn about nature and enjoy the outdoors. Join us for a fun-filled parent and child experience including storytelling, a guided nature walk, and arts and crafts. Trails are sandy/muddy so wear closed-toe shoes and clothing suitable for outdoors. Strollers are not recommended on the trails.

  • Program and crafts are tailored for preschool level (ages 2-5), however all ages that enjoy the experience are welcome to attend.
  • Registration required, please visit letsgooutside.org and make sure you select the correct date.  
  • Fee: $5 per child. Payment collected at the event.

44th Annual Boat Parade of Lights
OC Parks - Beaches & Coastal Facilities - Dana Point Harbor

The County of Orange, OC Parks and Dana Point Harbor invite families to celebrate the season with “A Western Wonderland” at the 44th Annual Boat Parade of Lights. Enjoy festive family activities with a western twist on select dates December 7-15 by the water’s edge.

The 44th Annual Boat Parade of Lights will take place on December 7, 8, 14 and 15 and feature the theme “A Western Wonderland.” On each evening of the parade, OC Parks will host free family activities throughout Dana Point Harbor including games, crafts, live entertainment and selfies with Santa, all with a western twist. Festivities begin each day at 4:30 p.m. and the Boat Parade of Lights starts at 7:30 p.m. at the water’s edge.
