August 1st through November 30th 2019

Let your story become part of the library!

We welcome art about stories of coming to California or that share cultural traditions.

Adults can pick up a free blank notebook, fill it with art, and return it to the library by November 30th. Art will be exhibited and the notebooks will become part of the library's collection. Opening exhibition and reception held in December.

Notebooks can be picked at the Fountain Valley, Garden Grove Main, and Westminster Libraries.

This project was made possible with support from California Humanities, a non-profit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Visit www.calhum.org.

Fitness Hike Ridge Park

Please note, this is a fitness hike; the pace is approximately a 19-minute mile.

Raise your heart rate and your spirits on this difficult, strenuous and fast-paced, 6.6-mile hike (1,100-ft. elevation gain) over very steep, uneven terrain with Laguna Canyon Foundation volunteers.

  • For ages 15 and up. Ages under 18 with a signed waiver from parent. The waiver can be downloaded here: www.lagunacanyon.org/waiver.
  • Laguna Coast Wilderness Park, Ridge Park Staging Area (Newport Coast Drive to Ridge Park Rd. east to end; meet at the gate.)

Tijuana Dogs and Family Style: 2019 OC Parks Summer Concert Series

The County of Orange and OC Parks welcome back the annual outdoor summer concert series with 10 free outdoor concerts Thursday evenings, June 20 – August 29 from 5 – 8 p.m. Enjoy live music under the summer sky at Craig Regional Park, Mason Regional Park, Irvine Regional Park, Mile Square Regional Park and Bluff Park at Salt Creek Beach.

Join us Thursday, August 22 at Bluff Park at Salt Creek Beach for live music featuring Tijuana Dogs and Family Style.  

Event opens at 5 p.m. for guests to enjoy the beer garden, food trucks, and to save their spot on the grass for the concert! All concerts are from 6 to 8 p.m., free and open to the public of all ages. Concertgoers 21 and over can purchase beer and wine at the beer tent. Bring your family and enjoy live music under the stars with OC Parks this summer.
