What services are offered at the Children's Dental Clinic?

The Children's Dental Program at the Orange County Health Care Agency provides basic dental care to eligible children ages 4 through 18 years old.

How do I qualify for the Children's Dental Program?

  • You must meet income eligibility requirements. Please call (800) 914-4887 for more information about eligibility.
  • Your child must not have private dental insurance.

What do I need to know before my visit?

  • We do accept Medi-Cal. Please bring your Medi-Cal card to every appointment.
  • Parents are required to come with their child at every visit.

  Walk-ins Only: Please come to the Clinic at 7:30 AM on Tuesdays and Thursday to get a number. Clinic services are offered on a first come first serve basis.

What services are offered at the Adult Emergency Dental Clinic?

The Adult Emergency Dental Clinic provides emergency services for tooth (dental) infection and pain in adults.

  • The dentist will assess your emergency and talk to you about a treatment plan. Services we may provide include treatment of tooth pain, treatment of tooth infections (draining abscesses), and extractions (tooth removal).
  • We only provide emergency extractions (tooth removal) and only one tooth can be removed per visit. We do not provide elective (optional) extractions or preventative care such as fillings or cleanings.

How do I qualify for the Adult Emergency Dental Program?

To qualify for the program, you must meet all of the requirements below:

  • Be a resident of Orange County
  • Not have private dental insurance. If you have private dental insurance, you are not eligible for this Program. We do not accept Denti-Cal.
  • Meet income eligibility requirements. We charge for services based on your income and family size using a sliding fee scale. We will review the sliding fee scale at each visit.

What do I need to know before my visit?

  • The Adult Emergency Dental Clinic is a walk-in clinic only. We do not take appointments.
  • We are only open on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We offer our services on a  first come first serve basis.
  • Space is limited and the number of patients that will be seen may change daily. Numbers are given out to patients at 7:30 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays only.
  • Payment is required at the time of service. Dental Clinic visit fees are not refundable.

The Ryan White Dental Program provides dental services to eligible children and adults who are infected with HIV (human immune-deficiency virus) and who meet the following criteria:

  • Low income
  • Cannot afford private dental care
  • Do not have private dental insurance
  • Is not eligible for Medi-Cal/Denti-Cal
