Public Health Nursing

The Public Health Nursing Division (PHND) provides public health nursing services throughout the County, in homes and community settings to individuals of all ages. Nurses learn the clients’ needs and help them to access medical and social services, provide health teaching, and referrals for health care and community resources. They collaborate with community organizations to identify health concerns of populations, to address needs, and to provide health education and screening with goals of preventing disease and disability, promoting healthy lifestyles and assuring access to quality health services.
