Effecting change in the environment is an essential part of a comprehensive approach to the prevention of alcohol and other drug-related problems, and a proven strategy for helping youth and adults make healthy choices. To achieve this outcome, we promote responsible actions by government, communities, and the alcohol industry.
Every Woman Counts (EWC) provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, pelvic exams, and Pap tests to California’s underserved women. The mission of the EWC is to save lives by preventing and reducing the devastating effects of cancer for Californians through education, early detection, diagnosis and treatment, and integrated preventive services, with special emphasis on the underserved. EWC is part of the Department of Health Care Services’ Cancer Detection and Treatment Branch (CDTB).
The CDIP program administers the following projects designed to increase physical activity opportunities and prevent bike, pedestrian, and child passenger injuries: Buckle Up Orange County, Safe Routes to School, Walk to School Day, and Helmet Safety.
TUPP collaborates with community agencies, youth, service and health organizations, city officials and schools throughout Orange County to offer a variety of tobacco education, cessation and policy programs.
Walk to School is a fun, educational event involving children, parents, and community leaders. Consider becoming a coordinator for your school. Principals, teachers, parents...anyone can become a coordinator.
