Salt Creek Beach Park is a popular surfing location. A small, offshore reef creates some of the best left swells along the entire coastline. Swimming, body surfing, sunbathing and tidepool exploration (all tidepool inhabitants are protected) are other beach activities.
Convenience structures include restroom facilities with outside showers and a paved parking area. A beach concession building, open in the spring and summer, offers quick food and beach supplies.
In an effort to minimize the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) on park patrons, staff, and the Orange County community at large, and consistent with the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Governor’s office, and the Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA), OC Parks is currently operating in the following manner as of Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
Capistrano Unified School District conducts surfing classes for students at Salt Creek Beach throughout the school year. The beach remains open to the public during these times. Please see the link below for days and times the beach may be affected.
