May Proclaimed as Foster Care Month in Orange County

The Orange County Board of Supervisors proclaimed May 2017 as Foster Care Month in Orange County and highlighted the significant need for additional families to provide loving homes for foster youth. In Orange County, there are more than 2,000 children and youth in foster care.

Orange County Point in Time Count Released

The County of Orange released the 2017 Point in Time (PIT) count today, which shows a 7.6 percent increase in homelessness in Orange County since the 2015 PIT count.

County Opens First Year Round Homeless Shelter

Today the County of Orange opened the doors to its first year-round emergency shelter and service center. The shelter, named Bridges at Kraemer Place, will ultimately provide year-round shelter and services to 200 individuals each night who are experiencing homelessness.
