Board of Supervisors Approves Countywide Suicide Prevention Initiative

The Orange County Board of Supervisors announced that it has committed $600,000 of Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) monies for the creation of a countywide suicide prevention program. This funding will be given to MindOC, the fiscal entity of Be Well Orange County, an initiative bringing together public, private, academic and faith-based organizations, as well as others, to create a coordinated system of mental healthcare and support for all Orange County residents.

Airline passenger traffic at John Wayne Airport increased in January 2019 as compared with January 2018. In January 2019, the Airport served 819,392 passengers, an increase of 0.3% when compared with the January 2018 passenger traffic count of 817,258.$0

All CalFresh March Benefits to be Issued on a Single Day

The County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA), and all county welfare departments in the state, have been notified by the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) that CalFresh March benefits will be issued on a single day, Friday, March 1, 2019, rather than the normal staggered issuance cycle of the first through the tenth of the month.
