Canyon Fire Victims

TAX RELIEF FOR PROPERTY DAMAGED BY THE CANYON FIRE

If your property has suffered over $10,000 in property damage due to the recent Canyon fires, you may qualify for temporary property tax relief.

State law allows County Assessors to temporarily reduce the value of property that has been damaged by a calamity. This includes damage to all property subject to property taxes such as homes, mobile homes, boats, businesses and business personal property.

The Office of the Assessor will assist eligible property owners to ensure that they receive the full benefits as provided by law.

Applications must be filed within 12 months of when the property was damaged and can be found here.

Please contact the Assessor Department for further information at (714) 834-2727.
