Foster Care Public Health Nursing is a collaborative program with Social Services to ensure that health care needs of children in foster care are met. Public Health Nurses who work in the Child Welfare Services are stationed within programs in the Social Services Agency to support activities from the Child Abuse Registry to adoptions. Public Health Nurses provide coordination of care, home visits, resource and referral coordination, and consultation services to meet the challenging medical needs of children in child protective services.
