Parking consists of pay and display parking $1/hour year round. Or, an annual County beach parking card, available at the Sailing & Events Center (949) 923-2215 in Dana Point Harbor.

Activities

A child lifts a surfboard into the water at Salt Creek Beach.Salt Creek Beach Park is a popular surfing location. A small, offshore reef creates some of the best left swells along the entire coastline. Swimming, body surfing, sunbathing and tidepool exploration (all tidepool inhabitants are protected) are other beach activities.

Convenience structures include restroom facilities with outside showers and a paved parking area. A beach concession building, open in the spring and summer, offers quick food and beach supplies.

OC Parks COVID-19 Modified Operations

UPDATED 5/5/21: In an effort to minimize the impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) on park patrons, staff, and the Orange County community at large, and consistent with the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Governor’s office, the Orange County Board of Supervisors and the Orange County Health Care Agency (HCA), OC Parks are operating in the following manner.


March 8, 2021 
Extended Spring-Summer Park Hours Begin March 14

The clocks spring forward early March 14, marking the beginning of daylight-saving time and OC Parks’ spring-summer operating schedule.

Spring-summer hours for most regional parks are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wilderness parks and some regional parks are open at 7 a.m. and close at sunset year round.

Poche Beach Bridge Emergency Closure

The Poche Beach bridge off PCH and Camino Capistrano is closed.

Public access through this point of entry to the beach and beach club is closed due to dangerous conditions on the bridge.
