Keep Waterways Clean by Removing Trash from Creeks, Rivers and Beaches

Trash is polluting our creeks, rivers, bays and ocean. Join your friends and neighbors in helping to keep our waterways healthy. There are many cleanup events countywide that you can volunteer at to make a large impact on the health of our waterways. The cities of Orange County and the County itself work year round at events that prevent trash from reaching our ocean. Please see below for how you can get involved.

Adopt a Channel

Click here to learn more about how you and your friends or your company can adopt a storm drain channel to enhance the environment by removing trash and debris, improving the physical appearance of these channels, and increasing awareness and commitment to keep our channels, creeks, bays and ocean clean. Adopters are recognized by the display of their name or logo on a program sign at the Adoption Site.

Coastal and Inner Coastal Cleanup Day (September 21, 2019)

Click here to learn more about cleanup sites near your neighborhood. Inner coastal cleanup sites (sites that are inland) are an especially great place to volunteer because they allow us to pick up trash in our neighborhood creeks and rivers before the trash reaches the ocean. With over 35 sites, there is sure to be one near you.

Earth Day Cleanup Events (April 22, 2020)

Follow H2OC at to learn about local events. The County of Orange hosts a cleanup event for Earth Day; click here to learn more about how you can get involved at this year's virtual event from the comfort of your home.
