OC Waste & Recycling is reminding customers that county landfills and Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers will be closed on Tuesday, the Fourth of July holiday. The landfills will be open regular hours on Monday, July 3, and will resume regular hours on Wednesday, July 5.
Following completion of the Avenida La Pata Extension in 2016, OC Public Works is now set to begin widening of La Pata between Ortega Highway to Stallion Ridge. The project will add one additional travel lane in each direction. Click here to see the project map.
Beginning mid-June through August 2017 Avenida La Pata may be temporarily reduced to one travel lane in each direction.
It’s a wrap! OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) closed out one of its busiest spring seasons for community outreach on Saturday, May 20, at the annual OC Public Works Open House. The event was one of nine supported by the department this April and May alone, aimed at reaching OC residents to educate about eco-friendly recycling habits and waste management services provided by the County. Through these efforts, OCWR reached more than 6,000 residents, supported two campaigns and raised $5,000 for United Way.
