SANTA ANA, Calif. – Five young Orange County artists are doing their part to help OC Waste & Recycling promote the need for keeping green waste and food waste out of the landfills and how to recycle or reuse it in ways that benefit communities and the environment.
Santa Ana, Calif. (August 22, 2017) – OC Waste & Recycling has received two prestigious national awards from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), the leading waste industry association.
The awards recognize OCWR’s excellence in two categories: Landfill Gas and Biogas, for the Bowerman Power Project with Montauk Energy; and Educational Programs, for the agency’s Landfill Tour Program.
About 1,000 Orange County residents took advantage of a different kind of drive-thru experience for National Drive-Thru Day, celebrated by OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) on July 22.
Instead of placing an order and getting fries, residents drove through the County’s free Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers to drop off unused paint, old pesticides, used car oil, cleaning supplies and more without leaving their vehicle.
Making Orange County a safe, healthy, and fulfilling place to live, work, and play, today and for generations to come, by providing outstanding, cost-effective regional public services.
